Message from Chef Lauren:

These days we are in the midst of summer’s bounty and surrounded by produce that epitomizes the joy and lushness of the summer garden. August is the heart of the tomato season, and organic dry farmed Early Girl tomatoes have surpassed all other varieties of sweetness. All the tomato varieties are abundant. In a normal year, we will have heirloom tomatoes long into October and perhaps till Halloween. Now is the time to indulge your passion for heirloom tomatoes!

In addition to tomatoes, it’s all about the summer squash and corn on our local organic farms right now. You can find all of these items under the “Local Produce” section of our order form.

We are also seeing some of our early fall produce come into the season. Beans, Peppers, Apples, Pears and Grapes are all ready to be picked.
